Moxyfilms is Molly Stack.

Molly a traveling dual USA/Italian citizen armed with a camera and an innate knack for storytelling. Molly transmits her lust for travel, learning, adventure and discovery in the projects she takes on and in the work she produces.

Having had an interdisciplinary university education a gazzillion years ago at Portland State University in Oregon, USA, Molly has since been exercising her ability to make meaningful connections between disciplines and genres. Studying Theatre Arts, Fine Arts, foreign film, conceptual physics, Earth sciences and philosophy, and turning over all the academic stones she could lay her hands on, Molly laid the foundations that make her perspective and her work unique.

After completing her Bachelor of the Arts, Molly headed from the United States to the Republic of Ireland in 2003 for the purpose, discovered only in retrospect, of a career as a filmmaker in the Irish and European film and broadcasting industries. Molly’s time in Ireland saw her directing her first short film with One Productions and Fantastic Films (IFB Short Short “O”, 2005), working for RTÉ/Tyrone as a VT Editor on the “Seoige & O’Shea Show”, producing stings and filming feature stories for RTÉ Sport’s weekly “MNS” show, acting Assistant Director and Production Manager with Director Graham Cantwell on the TV3 series pilot “The Guards” (airing late 2011) and lending her hand to many television and installation projects with Dublin-based production companies.

In these formative times, Molly began finding her voice as a cinematic storyteller. Following her interdisciplinary tradition and having performed various types of job within the industry, Molly found a natural niche within the trend for self-shooting Producer/Directors. Molly’s ever evolving interests and unlimited curiosity have been bringing her from strength to strength as she develops a deeper understanding of her role and her unique style as a self-shooter.

Changes in economic tides brought Molly to Northern Ireland in 2010, where she joined the BBC market and leaped directly into two BBC NI documentary series commissions with Doubleband Films in Belfast. Molly provided Photography and Principal Photography for documentary series’ “Special Deliveries” and “House on the Hill” (Autumn 2010, BBC One NI). Molly also expanded her repertoire into motorsport, working with the Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing Superbike team at the Isle of Man TT and throughout the British Superbike racing season, Charley Boorman, Dakar Rally legend Simon Pavey and the global adventure motorbike community organisers of Horizons Unlimited.

Molly kicked 2011 off with Lion Television Scotland, working as Producer/Director on the Belfast portion of the new BBC One Daytime series “Noise Squad” (working title), which is going to air in Autumn 2011. Molly also began her current residency as a Film Facilitator with the Belfast based Educational Shakespeare Company (www.esc-film.com), working with marginalized members of society using film making and storytelling as a therapeutic and rehabilitative tool. Molly is working with ESC in development of their next prison Shakespeare project, “Prospero’s Prison”, an adaptation of “The Tempest”.

Molly still explores sound design, multimedia design and creative direction for live theatre, performance in film and stage, programme development for television and radio, producing and directing shorts and documentaries for television and online broadcast, and feature film development and production.
